Robert Wade

Robert Wade is a photo-based artist and commercial photographer. Born in Los Angeles in 1945, he acquired his first single-lens reflex camera in the mid-1960s and began selling photographs by the late-1960s. Robert relocated from Southern California to Seattle in 1989. Until 2005, he mixed his art-making with regular employment, first as a community college instructor, then as a quantitative and qualitative research analyst, and finally as an information systems project manager. Since 2005, all of his efforts have been focused on photography. He has exhibited work in numerous local exhibitions and occasional out of town shows in locales including New York, Miami, Brazil and Spain. He currently shows at Koplin Del Rio Gallery, in Seattle’s Georgetown neighborhood. In addition to his fine-art photography, Robert has an active commercial photography practice. His clients include numerous Seattle area cultural organizations. As an arts volunteer, Robert is a long-time member of the Henry Art Gallery board of trustees. He has also served on the boards of CoCA and the Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra.
