About

Rome Esmaili is a joyful human dedicated to uplifting his community through creativity and love. Raised in the South End, Rome has been around the world and back. Currently, he is grindin to improve skills as a sculptor, painter, music-maker (beats, rhymes), youth teaching artist, yoga instructor, healer, community organizer and all around purveyor of positive vibes. Everything he creates strives to offer assistance in the actualization of human unity. Space is the place.

Rome received 2017 GAP funding for a solo exhibit, The Ancient Mind. The exhibit aims to remind viewers that along with external, physical and geographic differences, we all share space in the collective human experience. The project will celebrate all aspects of this experience, from the world of sickness and suffering to the transcendental existence of liberation and peace.

The exhibit features 25 hand-built faces of various demeanor and expressions. The Ancient Mind will be shown at Paradice Avenue Souf, a new gallery/artist collective in Georgetown with a mission of expanding arts access to the under-served and promote creativity to people of all cultural and economic backgrounds.
