About

Saira Khan is a Pakistani-American writer and prose stylist. Her essays and fiction appear in Pleiades, Witness Magazine, The Guardian, Identity Theory and elsewhere. Her short fiction chapbook, Late Stage, was published by DeRailleur Press in Brooklyn NY. She has received support from Poets & Writers, Reese Witherspoon’s The Readership, 4Culture, Hedgebrook, One Story Summer Conference, Tin House Summer Conference and Writers in Paradise at Eckerd College. A 2023 Periplus Fellow, her work was shortlisted for the 2023 Coppice Prize in short fiction and named a finalist for the Black Lawrence Press 2024 Immigrant Writing Series. She runs a publicly funded bi-monthly open mic salon, Literary Nights at a train depot in Issaquah, WA.
