About

Tatiana Pavela is a theatre artist who gravitates toward devised work, physical theatre, and heightened language. During her previous time in New York, she performed at the New Ohio, Chashama, Dixon Place, La Mama ETC, HERE Arts Center, Tribeca Performing Arts Center, CATCH Performance Series, and PS 122 (to name some favorites). She has been a regular with companies such as Drama of Works, Sightline Theatre Company, and Obie award winning Theatre of a Two-Headed Calf. Outside of New York, Tatiana has worked in Seattle, Minneapolis, Providence, Finland, Indonesia, and Serbia. She holds a MFA from University of Washington PATP; BFA from NYU Tisch School of the Arts. Her original works include Brandi Alexander, El Diablo, and Buttercream & Scotch (co-written with performance artist Paige Collette).

Tatiana received 2017 GAP Award funding for the development and initial run of Brandi Alexander (approximately four performances) at a theatre in Seattle’s Capitol Hill. The current iteration is approximately 25 minutes, and the goal is for a full-length show. The year is 1987 and Brandi’s back from a long hiatus, eager to greet her fans and dish out the secret to her success: she got raped – finally! She’s back, and is the comedy opening act to the man who created the women that she is today.
