About

Thomas Scott Adams is a writer, director, and producer based in Seattle, and the founder of Ragged Films, an independent studio making elevated, character-driven horror built to travel the festival circuit. His work is drawn to the places where genre and grief meet, using the tools of horror to take conscience, faith, and the possibility of change as seriously as fear itself.

His short film Beneath the Same Sky screened on the festival circuit with multiple selections, including a Best Director win at the Humiro Cinema Film Festival. He is currently in production on Cemetery Hill, a period supernatural horror short set on an 1897 Washington homestead, about two sisters and a courteous, patient figure that feeds on grief turned to rage. Fiscally sponsored by Northwest Film Forum, the film is built as a proof of concept for a feature and reflects Adams’s belief that the most honest horror is the kind that scares you and then sets you down gently.

Adams trained in film at NYU Tisch, the School of Visual Arts, Vancouver Film School, and the London Film School. Alongside his creative practice, he brings a decade of operational discipline to independent production, an approach that lets his small, resourceful films punch well above their budgets.
