Join artist and 2022 GAP recipient Claire Sianna Seaman for an overview of Artist Trust’s Grants for Artist Projects (GAP) application process. In this 1.5-hour workshop, you’ll learn about Artist Trust, the 2026 GAP awards, and how to apply. Claire will break down the application components and share tips to help your application stand out. This event is presented in partnership with the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts and the North Central Washington Arts Alliance.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR

Claire Seaman Headshot

Claire Sianna Seaman is a painter, filmmaker, and printmaker from Leavenworth, WA, whose work grapples with the human relationship to the natural environment. More than an attempt to come to terms with climate change, she seeks to share and cultivate community-based solutions to the climate crisis through art.

She holds a BA from Smith College in Studio Art, with a concentration in Climate Change. She is currently earning her MA in Human Geography at the University of British Columbia.

Claire has been featured in the Wild and Scenic Film Festival Art Exhibition and received an Artist Trust GAP Award. She participated in the Conservation, History, and Art (CHA) Residency from the Icicle Creek Center for the Arts, and the Olympic National Park Terminus project. In 2021, she was chosen to work with scientists from the University of Washington Climate Impacts Group to create an art piece that imagined climate resiliency in the Pacific Northwest. In addition to being featured in the 5th National Climate Assessment Art x Climate Gallery, this is currently on display at the Smithsonian Natural History Museum in Washington, D.C. as part of the Art x Climate Exhibit.
