About This Workshop
It is critical to protect your intellectual property as a working artist. In this 90-minute workshop, led by attorney Adan Jimenez, you’ll learn best practices for sharing your work, how to safeguard your creative property and resources to help understand legal processes. Topics covered will include copyrights, trademarks, and patents. There will be time at the end for a Q&A.
About the Instructor
Adan Jimenez is the son of artists from rural New Mexico, which has given him a deep appreciation for the value of the arts in local communities. His law practice reflects this appreciation with a focus on intellectual property, specifically copyrights and trademarks, where he combines his love of the arts with his passion for the law. Adan volunteers in the community with Kids in Need of Defense, an organization that assists unaccompanied minors with obtaining status in the United States and Communities Rise, a nonprofit assisting other nonprofits with corporate governance. Additionally, he serves as Treasurer for Washington Lawyers for the Arts, an organization that works to provide legal aid to artists, and on the King County Bar Association IP Section as Co-Vice Chair.
