About this Workshop

As a creative, one of the biggest struggles can be measuring and understanding your worth as an artist. In this 1.5 hour workshop, artist D.A. Navoti will walk participants through identifying and honoring theiunique skillsets and areas of expertise, brainstorming strategies to expand one’s income revenues, and using that process to craft a plan for creative longevity, sustainability, and productivityD.A. will cover tips and approaches to pricing work, negotiating pay rates, and considerations when booking opportunities based in one’s worth and skillsets. Participants will leave feeling empowered to make career decisions rooted in their worth as a creative, and build a long-term and sustainable creative practice. 

About the Instructor 

D.A. Navoti is a multidisciplinary storyteller, composer, and writer of the Gila River Indian Community. The author and curator of essays, stories, and multimedia exhibits, his artistic work spans three landscapes — written, musical, and visual — a hybrid form maximizing Indigenous futures. Navoti won the 2025 Nonfiction Literary Award from the Tucson Festival of Books and was awarded a 2025 CityArtist grant from The Seattle Office of Arts & Culture. Previously, he was the 2023-25 Indigenous Community Liaison for 4Culture’s Poetry in Public program and was selected for Tin House’s 2024 Winter Online Workshop. Also in 2024, he was awarded the Native Creative Development Grant by The Evergreen State College and attended the Lambda Literary Writer’s Retreat. Learn more at www.danavoti.com.
