CPA Valerie Moseley is here to help you better understand the business side of your art practice. During this one hour workshop, she’ll dive into the ins and outs of Business & Occupation (B&O) taxes and Washington State Sales Tax. There will also be a Q&A at the end.

You will be invited to submit questions ahead of time once you register. We will do our best to answer as many as possible.

This workshop is made possible in partnership with the Seattle Office of Arts and Culture.

About Valerie Moseley

Valerie is a CPA licensed with the Washington State Board of Accountancy. She is also a member of the Washington State Society of CPAs, the National Association of Tax Professionals, and the Accounting & Financial Women’s Alliance where she is active in the Seattle chapter’s tax roundtable.

Valerie has taught with several business support organizations including WSCPAs financial literacy program, SBA’s SCORE monthly Small Business Workshop, SBA’s Emerging Leaders Program, Women Business Owners, and Artist Trust as well as at several industry groups such as The Writer’s Co-Op, Seattle Yoga Arts, and the Seattle Composer’s Alliance. After working for several Seattle tax firms, she opened her own practice in 2010. Upon selling in 2018, she formed VMCPA, a tax consultancy, focusing on helping for-profit business and their owners optimize their tax results.

Valerie has a background in the performing arts – she is the former Treasurer of the Board of several arts organizations – but these days you might be more likely to find her on the yoga mat or in the kickball field during her off hours.
