Tieton Arts & Humanities announces their 13th annual international juried exhibition. 10x10x10xTieton invites artists to create artwork no larger than 10 inches in any dimension.
10x10x10xTieton features about 200 artists from around the world. With no media restrictions, the exhibition has a broad range of pieces on display, from sculpture to painting, sound collage, book arts, photography and everything in between. All works are printed in a handbound exhibition catalog made in Tieton at Paper Hammer Studios. Every exhibited artist receives a free catalogue and additional copies are available for sale during the exhibition.
Art historian and independent curator, Bruce Guenther is currently serving as Adjunct Curator of Special Exhibitions for the Oregon Jewish Museum and Center for Holocaust Education, Portland.
A specialist in post-war American and European Art, Guenther was the Chief Curator and Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, Portland Art Museum, Oregon, until his retirement in 2014. Previously he was the Chief Curator at the Orange County Museum of Art, Newport Beach, California, and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, Illinois; and Curator of Contemporary Art and the head of the Modern Art Program at the Seattle Art Museum, Washington. He has curated numerous major monographic and thematic exhibitions internationally, and authored numerous books and exhibition catalogues. Most recently he provided the overview essays for PAPER: Charles Arnoldi (Radius Books, 2017), Michael C. Spafford: Epic Works (Lucia|Marquand, 2018), and Roland Petersen: Works on Paper 1956 – 2005 (The Studio Shop, LP, 2019), and FRISSON: The Richard Lang and Jane Lang Davis Collection (Seattle Art Museum, 2021).
$30 for two submissions, $14 each additional submission. No detailed images of the same artwork. Submit only one JPEG per artwork (high resolution image). These images will be used to create the print catalog.
Your entry fee helps to support access to cultural opportunities that are not generally available in small communities with limited resources. Money raised through this call will go towards supporting free children’s art programs, and continued free public gallery access.
All media welcome. Works must be of original design and personal execution and made within the previous three years. Entries must arrive ready to hang.
No piece may be larger than 10 inches x 10 inches x 10 inches, in any dimension, INCLUDING THE FRAME. Each accepted entry must be installation-ready, framed or encased, with appropriate hanging hardware and installation instructions, and clearly labeled with the artist’s name and title of the work. Most sculptures will be wall placed on shelves, although some will be displayed on plinths. Test your framing/presentation before sending it. At this size, the presentation of your work is as important as the object, and deserves extra care and consideration.
Each accepted entry will be featured in a fully illustrated, handbound, hardcover catalogue of the exhibit. Each accepted artist will receive one free copy of the catalogue.
August 6th – October 9th, 2022 at the Mighty Tieton Warehouse in Tieton, WA.
