The City of Redmond Parks and Recreation Department is inviting artists to submit a proposal to become
an Artist-in-Residence to stimulate cultural vibrancy in the parks of Downtown Redmond, specifically Downtown
Park, through original artworks and by challenging residents to become active participants in civic life and
cultural advocacy. We are interested in collaborative artists working in all disciplines and mediums, with an
emphasis on the participatory arts.

Timeline:
Submission deadline: Friday, July 26, 2019, 5 PM PST
Selection: August 2019
Contracting: September, 2019

Requirements: The Redmond Artist-in-Residence program requires that artists:

• Develop a 1 year residency plan that achieves the goals of the program;
• Create a body of original work within the City of Redmond context that can vary based on discipline (i.e.
  visual, performance or community-based work);
• Provide opportunities for community participation through hands on involvement, programs, public
  performances, classes and/or workshops;
  o Present artwork and a minimum of four public programs that reach a broad audience; and
  o Conduct outreach and public engagement about their projects during the residency
