2020 Wearable Art Show / Calls & Submissions
The 10th anniversary Port Townsend Wearable Art Show celebrates art in motion on the human body — in a music-filled runway show at Fort Worden State Park’s McCurdy Pavilion. More than $6,000 in prizes are awarded at the May 9, 2020 show. Past winners of best in show, people’s choice, best student wearable art and other categories have used recycled materials, fine textiles, found objects and even movie-popcorn bags to construct their pieces. The Wearable Art Show itself has two performances: a matinee and an evening show on the Saturday right before Mothers Day. People from all walks of life create pieces, and skilled volunteers do hair and makeup on the volunteer models. Proceeds from ticket sales benefit the Jefferson County Fund for Women and Girls.
