BLUE MOUNTAIN GALLERY, located in the heart of New York City’s Chelsea art district, invites contemporary artists, in 2D media, to submit work for its 13th Juried Exhibition, juried by Don Kimes, contemporary artist and educator. The exhibition will run in the gallery space from January 2 – 27, will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue and be featured on Artsy.

ABOUT THE JUROR – DON KIMES
Represented by Denise Bibro Fine Art (NYC), Don Kimes is Founding Artistic Director of the ACI artists residency in Umbria (Italy), Board Chair/Contributing Editor for Art Lantern/New Art Examiner UK, and senior Professor of Art at American University in Washington DC. Additionally, for 33 years he built and led the Chautauqua School of Art, establishing it as one of the nation’s leading summer art programs. Prior to that he taught for eleven years at the New York Studio School, serving as Program Director there for six years.
His work has been presented in over 150 exhibitions internationally, including Denise Bibro, Jim Kempner, Claudia Carr, and many others in New York City; the Global Art Fair (Singapore); Rueda Museum (Madrid), Biennale Internazionale (Florence, Italy), Rocca Paolina (Perugia), ExMoenia (Todi), America Haus (Munich), Casa di Cultura (Villahermosa, Mexico), Baltimore Museum of Art, Burchfield Penney Museum (Buffalo), Katzen Museum (D.C.) and dozens of others internationally. He has received awards and residencies at the American Academy in Rome; SACI in Florence; Mellon Foundation awards to live and work on the island of Kauai, and to spend a year painting near Todi, Italy; a Department of the Interior residency at Yellowstone; Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes (Mexico); Eisenhower Foundation (Soviet Union); the Assensore di Cultura (Corciano, Italy), and the Accademia di Belli Arte (Perugia, Italy).

ELIGIBLE WORKS: Open to artists 18+ years of age living in the USA, excluding artists currently represented by Blue Mountain Gallery. This is an Open Theme/ Two-dimensional media including painting, drawing, printmaking, pastel, mixed media and photography. Work must not exceed 36” x 36”, including frame.
