Want to study theatre directing, physical acting, ensemble building, movement directing, teaching and actors coaching? At New International Performing Arts Institute, students can spend three weeks immersed in an intensive, hands-on course where they’ll learn to perform, direct, analyze plays, build rehearsals and training with Ostrenko Brothers – Sergei and Gennadiy Ostrenko.

The 3-Week Physical Theatre and Directing workshop provides students with a strong foundation of acting and directing skills, with a specific focus on Russian theatre school in the interpretation of Ostrenko Brothers. The three-week length fits conveniently into many students’ yearly schedules, allowing aspiring performers of all backgrounds to learn more in less time with this full-time, intensive program. Students must be prepared to make a serious commitment to complete the course.

Classes emphasize the basic elements of the craft of performance making, using different techniques, including K. Stanislavski’s Physical Action and Active Play Analysis, M. Chekhov’s Psychological Gesture, V. Meyerhold’s Theatre Biomechanics. In conjunction with these classes, students participate in courses on scene study, monologue, structured improvisation, theatre biomechanics, Tai-Chi for performers, contact improvisation partnering and others.
