This call invites artists to delve into the depths of the African American experience and the various countries of Africa, showcasing the vibrancy, resilience, and diversity, and richness of this continent.
The exhibition aims to spotlight the multifarious narratives and artistic expressions stemming from the African American journey—embracing its profound influences on art, culture, and society. Artists are encouraged to explore various mediums, styles, and perspectives, offering a diverse range of interpretations, from the ancestral legacy to contemporary visions.
From portraits depicting iconic figures to abstract reflections on cultural heritage, from the vivid colors of celebrations to the poignant narratives of the struggle for equality, this showcase aims to create a vibrant mosaic, encapsulating the essence of African-American artistry.
Artists are encouraged to submit pieces that encapsulate the spirit, diversity, and significance of the African American narrative or any country from the African continent. Let your creativity flow as you contribute to a collective portrayal of heritage and honor the contributions of African-American artists to the world of art.

Juror: Selected pieces are juried by the curators at Gallery B612.

Timeline:
February 4th, 2024: The application process closes at midnight.
February 6th – 7th, 2024: Selection process will take place by Gallery B612 curators.
February 8th, 2024: Notification of accepted work will be sent out
February 20th – 22nd, 2024: Accepted work(s) needs to be dropped off or delivered to 1915 1st Ave S, Seattle Washington 98134. Artist responsible for shipping and return label costs. Shipped to Gallery B612 by February 22nd
February 29th, 2024: Exhibition Opens
February 29th, 2024: Artist Reception 6:30PM – 8:30PM
April 6th, 2024: Exhibition Closes
April 6th – April 7th, 2024: Local Artists pick-up artworks on these days during gallery business hours. Artwork will be shipped out to the national artists. Artist is responsible for shipping and return label costs.

Gallery Requirements:
Submission Details: For general submission($25), a maximum of ten total works per artist may be submitted for consideration. Any additional works after the first 3 pieces, then $5 per piece.

Shipping and Delivery: Accepted work may be hand delivered or shipped prepaid to arrive no later than February 22nd, 2024. Artists are responsible for delivery and return shipping label and costs.
All work must be original, unsold work, and the artist must own the sole copyright to art.
Frames, mats and wiring must be professional quality and in good condition. No saw-tooth hangers. Wiring must be securely fashioned and support the weight of the artwork. 2D artwork selected for exhibition MUST BE READY TO HANG on our wire hang system.
Please indicate a sale price as it is required for display in the gallery. No NSF works will be considered for the show.
Consignment will be required for selected pieces in order to be exhibited in the show.
Commission: Gallery retains a 50% commission on all exhibition sales in gallery and online.
