Program Description:
Six fellows will receive a stipend as per our organizational W.A.G.E. certification, and will have access to Materials for the Arts. Fellows will use the Queens Botanical Garden as an alternative space to interrogate the notion of “Art Space” as well as challenge audience members to consider art presentation beyond the traditional white walled space. Each artist will create two works that are in conversation with each other, and present one artwork in the QBG and another in a traditional gallery setting following the public art installations.

Each Fellow will present programming to the public, and will have professional development and mentoring. Fellows will also be interviewed and their installations filmed for a vlog series for virtual presentations. The Fellowship will conclude with a panel discussion between the Fellows, discussing their experience and conclusions made after creating and presenting work in both settings.
