Friends of the Troll’s Knoll is a community group dedicated to strengthening our community and caring for the green space surrounding the Fremont Troll. Our vision is to expand the existing westside park to also include the east side right of way. To promote activation, we are looking for artists, teaching artists, or artist teams to create an installation to accompany the Troll on the East Side of the Troll’s Knoll. The Fremont Troll is a landmark beloved by locals and tourists alike, visited by tens of thousands of people every year.

The purpose of the call for public art installation is to create and install art that activates the space and encourages exploration of the East side of the Troll. Artwork will be accompanied with a plaque including artist information, as well as project sponsors.

We are particularly interested in projects that involve community engagement, including through community members volunteering with installation or through hosting an event to celebrate the installation. The Friends of the Troll’s Knoll steering committee will assist in enlisting volunteers and planning the celebration event.
