The LGBTQ Resource Center of the Gulfport, Florida Library invites submissions for the 5th annual ArtOut exhibit, Queering the Pandemic. We seek artwork created by LGBTQ+ artists and allies that is inspired by experiences of life during the COVID-19 pandemic.This international juried exhibit will open on June 1, 2022, and continue through the month, coinciding with Pride Month celebrations in Gulfport, Florida. The exhibit will be held both in-person at the Gulfport Public Library in Gulfport, Florida, and virtually at artout.lgbtqgulfport.org.
We welcome international artistic submissions including, but not limited to, paintings, drawings, mixed media, 2D and 3D art pieces, photography, digital art, video/recorded performance art, music submissions, art created to accompany written material, etc. Jurors will evaluate and select artwork based on creativity and artwork quality, and how well the submitted work relates to and engages with issues relating to the theme. Jurors include Hunter O’Hanian, Kalki Subramaniam, and Saudade Toxosi. Artwork from outside the United States will only be exhibited virtually. There is no fee for submission.
The LGBTQ Resource Center of the Gulfport Library is a nonprofit organization (501c3) in Gulfport, Florida that is committed to promoting awareness of the diversity of experiences, contributions and needs of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and/or queer. We are the only center of its kind in a public library in Florida.
