There is disruption. We cannot physically interact, connect, or share experiences, so where does that leave the act of performance? Artists Terra Goolsby & Tammie Rubin would like to collaborate with performing artists for an upcoming experimental exhibition at ICOSA Collective gallery. Transmissions is a call for diverse concepts and responses that encompass “performance”. We would like to investigate the following: What’s performance without the expectations of the traditional “live” shared experiences? How to create intimacy and connection mediated through limited audiences, projected, and virtual transmissions? Is it possible to trigger an emotive response through distance? By removing the audience from the process of making, what will you explore as an artist? Submit proposals that are experimental, speak to the moment, embody a sense of awe and wonder, and engage with the ICOSA Collective space. Gallery images can be found here. Performance formats are: no contact, limited with social distancing, streaming, virtual, & projected performances. Artists should choose the format that works best for their proposal. Open to all modes of performance; performance art, dance, durational, social practice, puppetry, theatrical, musical, spoken word, and illusion just to name a few.
