Hello Artists and Graphic Designers!

Every year the Fremont Arts Council makes a poster for the Fremont Solstice Parade. We also use the design elements in parade promotions like postcards and ads. These design pieces are distributed and displayed all over the region.

We invite artists to submit designs for consideration for use in this year’s campaign. The successful artist will be awarded $250 honorarium for the design, membership in the Fremont Arts Council, a profile on our website crediting you with this year’s design; and the grand notoriety of your design representing this beloved Seattle event.

Proposals due: March 19
Finalist notified: March 22
Final Design due: April 5
Proposal to include:

–Proposal details–
1. Your contact info, including a phone number
2. A brief description and/or sketch of your poster idea(s)
3. 3-5 images that represent your work
4. A brief statement that expresses your interest in the Fremont Solstice Parade and the Fremont Arts Council
5. (optional) Your website link
6. (optional) A short bio

Please send your proposal no later than March 19 to outreach@fremontartscouncil.org or deliver them to the Power House Art Studio, 3940 Fremont Ave. N. Powerhouse hours are indeterminate; please feel free to use the mail slot on our front door!

–What are we looking for?–
The design should be simple and eye-catching and reflect the spirit of this community celebration. Themes to consider: music; dance; large puppets; bicycles; Joie de Vivre; public spectacle; The Longest Day of The Year. Let us know how you see the Parade!

–If you are selected–
The final poster will be 11×17 and include the following information in clear, legible font:

Heading: Fremont Arts Council’s (smaller than the title)
Title: 2020 Fremont Solstice Parade and Celebration
Subtitle: Saturday, June 20th, 2020 1 PM (smaller than the title)
Text: Follow us to Gas Works Park for more; Great Food & Beer Garden; Art and Family Fun!
Space for Sponsor logos: 1/8th of total page
