**Mary’s Place & Mercy Housing Burien Public Art Project – Call for Artists (RFQ)**
Urban ArtWorks, in partnership with Mary’s Place and Mercy Housing Northwest, is seeking artists for a new affordable housing and family shelter development in Burien, Washington. This RFQ will establish a pool of artists to be considered for a variety of paid public art opportunities, including interior and exterior murals, mounted artwork, and other site-specific work. The project team is also interested in licensing or purchasing existing artwork for select locations.
We welcome submissions from emerging and established artists working in a variety of visual arts disciplines throughout the Puget Sound region. Artists with connections to Burien, affordable housing, community-centered work, or the missions of Mary’s Place and Mercy Housing are especially encouraged to apply, as are artists from historically underrepresented communities.
This is a qualifications-based call only—no concept proposals are requested at this stage. Applicants should submit portfolio images, a brief statement, and basic contact information. Selected artists will be added to a pool for commission opportunities anticipated from Fall 2026 through early 2027.
For full project details and application instructions, please see the complete RFQ.
