Hunterdon Art Museum invites applications to our first triennial juried exhibition of ceramics. The form and content of your work will be up to you, the artist/maker. We are seeking lively and interesting interpretations of clay as material and idea. Your work may – or may not – fall within the traditional terms of description as “functional” or “sculptural”.

Juror
Jennifer D. Martin is the Executive Director of The Clay Studio, Philadelphia, and is also an accomplished artist. Her ceramic work is nationally recognized in numerous exhibitions and publications.
Awards
First Prize: $1,000
Second Prize: $500
Three Honorable Mention prizes will be awarded.

Eligibility
The exhibition is open to artists age 18 and older.
Specifications
WORK MUST BE FIRED AND CAPABLE OF BEING SHIPPED SECURELY. Wall-mounted pieces must be ready for hanging and no larger than 36″H x 22″W x 12”D, and may not weigh more than 25 pounds. Free-standing pieces may not exceed 36″H x 22″W x 22″D or weigh more than 50 pounds. Size limitations must be observed. Please contact HAM with questions about oversize pieces or other shipping concerns before you apply. Accepted work cannot be substituted and must be available for the duration of the exhibition.
Submission
Submit up to four pieces; one digital image for each piece and one detail of one piece (maximum of five images).
File format: JPEG or JPG only
File dimensions: 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side
All entries must be received by February 1, 2023.
Shipping/Delivery of Artwork
The artist is responsible for the cost of shipping or mailing artwork to and from the Hunterdon Art Museum using UPS, FedEx or USPS. A return shipping label and return postage must be included with the artwork. Artwork may also be hand-delivered to and picked up from the Museum on the appropriate dates during the scheduled times. Outside packaging may not exceed 50” x 30” x 30”.
Insurance
All artwork is insured for its declared value from the time it is received through September 12, 2023 while it is on the premises. Artists are responsible for insuring artwork during transit.
