Job Title: Controller/Accounting
Status: Full-Time, Exempt, Onsite
Salary Range: $60,000-$65,000 annually

POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Gage is looking for a creative Controller/Accountant that will play an active role in overseeing the institution’s financial health and help ensure our continued viability and resilience. This role reports to the Executive Director and will perform important finance functions including, but not limited to, financial accounting, internal financial controls, financial reporting and analysis, and payroll and benefits administration. The ideal candidate for this position is energized by organizing and tracking accurate financials and analyzing everyday financial activities to inform executive decision-making.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Financial Management 85%
Comply with all company, local, state and federal accounting and financial regulations, and ensure all financial activities are compliant with 501c3 accounting policies and regulatory requirements
Manage Gage’s accounting (AR, AP, Payroll, Cash, Banking, etc)
Enter Gage’s accounting transactions in QuickBooks on a regular basis
Actively manage Gage cash reserves and cash sweep accounts
Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliation and close of financials
Coordinate necessary tax filing and 1099 forms
Coordinate all audit activities, liaise with auditors, and resolve any discrepancies
Prepare timely periodic financial reports (ex. Balance sheets, income statements, cash flow, etc.)
Prepare budgets, and financial forecasts, for administration, existing programs, and proposed new programs and locations
Present financial data to leadership, Board, donors, and other entities as needed
Administration 15 %
Serve as a business partner to the ED on the organization’s financial, budgeting, and administrative processes – with an eye to continuously developing and improving systems
Attend Finance Committee, Executive Committee and Board Meetings as requested by the ED.
Supports financial components of student, instructor, donor, and board events as needed
Performs other duties as requested
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

A bachelor’s degree or equivalent educational background in accounting, finance, and/or business administration
Proven experience as an Accountant or Financial Manager (3+ years of experience in accounting and/or financial analysis)
Knowledge of robust financial reporting tools, including demonstrated use of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint to communicate financial data and inform decision-making
Proficient user of QuickBooks finance software
Attention to detail, and ability to organize financial data into actionable information
A team player ready to collaborate with the executive team and other internal stakeholders
Excellent business judgment, analytical, and decision-making skills
Working knowledge of nonprofit accounting and associated regulation
