Projects must include a public benefit, which is defined as a community-enriching aspect that is accessible to the public. Examples include free or sliding scale performances, exhibitions, or events or the expansion of services to expand inclusion of underserved communities.

Projects may be in the conceptual stage or they can be partially or mostly completed. Examples include the public performance of a film that has been produced or the exhibition of a body of work that is already complete.
