Crowd-sourced Collage Artist Seeking Submissions / Calls & Submissions
Deadline
March 31, 2021
Organization Name: Christin Call
Organization Location: Seattle, WA
Type: Calls & Submissions
Fee: Free
Discipline:
I am a Seattle artist currently working on a new crowd-sourced collage based on my series Ablution Log: Build up and excess. Different from previous crowd-sourced works I’ve done, this is not a film project but will manifest in a new physical paper/textile work.
I’m looking for interested participants to send me a response on paper of the following prompt(s):
1) Describe/draw something harmful that someone has said to you that created a significant impact on you.
2) Describe/draw something harmful you’ve said to someone that you now regret.
3) Describe/draw a dream in which you have been confronted by the perpetrators or recipient of these words.
You can send this response to me at
6631 Ellis Ave S
Seattle, WA 98108
Please send by the postmark March 31, 2022.
A few details:
There are no size restrictions, but you must pay for your own postage.
You may send this response anonymously if you like.
By sending you agree that I may photograph/document your response and share on social media.
If you would like your response credited, pls include your handle on the envelope.
What will happen to the responses.
I will be creating a large scale fabric panel that resembles a disheveled bed and pillows. All the paper responses will be broken down into paper pulp and reconstituted as a molded sculptural component on the panel. Your responses will have been digested by the process and used to create a new kind of material object, effectively embedding your experiences while moving forward from them.
I look forward to your participation and thank you in advance for what I know will be thoughtful and personal writing.
You can check out my artist website in the link below for more information about me and my work.
