Working under general direction from the Arts Community Manager, you’ll administer our Tourism Programs and ensure the City meets our potential as world-class city that welcomes the world.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Bellevue-Redmond Tourism Promotion Area (BRTPA) Advisory Board
Provide direct staff support to the BRTPA Advisory Board
Serve as a liaison between City programs and key community stakeholders such as Visit Bellevue, One Redmond, and tourism service providers.
Contract Administration: working with the BRTPA, develop, negotiate, and manage contracts in relation to the TPA collected funds.
Ensure compliance with Federal, State, and City laws, regulations and policies in relation to Tourism Promotion Areas.
Special Events Committee Support
Work cross departmentally to ensure the smooth implementation of events and activations that promote tourism.
Serve as a liaison between City Staff and event and activation organizations.
Prepare, distribute, and present information to tourism stakeholders about the special events process and necessary permits.
Tourism & Film Programs
Support the Arts Community Manager in the development of Film Programs as a Tourism attraction tool.
Working with tourism stakeholders, inform the strategic vision and implementation of the Destination Development Plan and ensure alinement between tourism goals and economic development goals.
Serve as a representative of the City of Bellevue on at least one of Visit Bellevue’s tourism councils.
Work with Bellevue’s existing cultural facilities and resources to promote events happening in in the area.
Support film permit applicants as they move through City processes.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Be an active member of the Cultural & Economic Development team to include:
Attendance at CED & CD staff meetings;
Many one-time only tasks, including technical support, filing, meeting notes, creating unique documents, help with array of artwork selection panels, dedications, community events, art events, artwork tours and other events;

Qualifications
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Able to work efficiently and accurately.
The ability to work quickly and collaboratively to solve problems.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Able to establish effective working relationships.
Occasional weekend and evening availability.
Must have a curiosity and interest in the arts and community development.
Must have the ability to bend and lift 40 pounds.
Ability to perform independently when clear direction is provided.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in tourism management, hospitality management, arts administration, business administration, communications, public administration, or a related field.
Three to five years experience in a combination of tourism programming, cultural programs, and/or grant programs, preferably in the public sector.
Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Survey Monkey, Mailchimp, and other digital tools.
Fluency in Japanese, Mandarin, Tagalog, Hindi, and/or Spanish is highly desirable.
PMP, PgMP, ACP, Scrum Master, or similar certification is a plus.

Other
Limited Term Employee (LTE): A fully benefited employee appointed to serve in a position scheduled to work a minimum of 30 hours a week for a specific project with a specific ending date which is anticipated to last more than five months but in no event longer than three consecutive years (36 months).
