What is it about the night sky that enchants us and fills us with wonder? How does darkness inspire mystery through what it cloaks – and awe in what it reveals? The sky is vast and limitless, yet it can feel intimate and enhance our feelings of solitude. Why is the darkness necessary for the health of our planet and all of us that call it home? I invite artists to reflect on these contrasts and consider their relationship with the dark sky. What do you see? What do you want us to see?

We invite you to contribute to our Dark Skies exhibit at the Confluence Gallery in Twisp, WA. The show will open on 03/02/2024 and will run through 4/13/2024. When emailing the gallery at exhibits@confluencegallery.org about this show, you must include “Dark Skies” in the subject line.

Number of pieces to submit: up to 3

Here are the rules. Each piece must be:
Your own original work.
Available for sale.
Created in the last 3 years.
Never previously been shown at The Confluence.
Any Size
Any Medium.
Ready for hanging with appropriate hardware/wire secured to work (works without hanging hardware or not professionally presented will not be hung. No dented or scratched frames unless that is part of the work)

Please Note: The curator(s) have the right to refuse work, even after work is delivered to the gallery if it does not contribute to the direction, cohesiveness, or available space of the show. We are looking for high-quality execution and thoughtful content that contribute to the vision of the show as stated above.

March 02, 2024 – EXHIBIT OPENS Opening reception 5-7pm at The Confluence: Art in Twisp.

April 13, 2024 – EXHIBIT CLOSES Work will be available for pick up from 10 am-noon on Sunday, April 14, or Monday, April 15. Please contact The Confluence at creative@confluencegallery.org if you need to make other arrangements beyond those dates and times. All work must be picked up by April 26, 2024, unless further arrangements are made.

The Confluence is a non-profit gallery. All shipping costs to and from the gallery of unsold works are each artist’s responsibility. See The Confluence Shipping Procedures form for details.
