We’re seeking a full-time Development Director to join our creative team, led by the Executive Director. Guided by our mission, the Development Director works with the Executive Director, Development Committee, and other board and staff members to create and implement the annual Development Plan. The goal of this plan is to build a fundraising and relationship-building capacity that ensures financial sustainability and supports new organizational growth. The Development Director reports directly to the Executive Director and shares responsibility for the overall growth and funding of Spark Central.

Roles & Responsibilities:
• Effectively communicate Spark Central’s mission, identity, goals, and programs to a variety of donors, funders, sponsors, and community members in a way that builds strong personal relationships and buy-in to Spark Central’s work.
• Manage corporate and foundation relationships, including writing some small grants, grant reporting, sponsorships, and in-kind donations. We work with a contracted grant-writer for 90% of our grants.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward individual and corporate donors. Build relationships, belonging, and value with donors and volunteers through personal interactions and formal communications such as donor newsletters, thank you notes, and phone calls.
• Oversee planning and implementation of major fundraising events, including our annual Spark Salon as well as donor appreciation and friend-raising events.
• Collaborate with the Development Committee and staff to facilitate board and volunteer participation in fundraising efforts and donor appreciation events.
• Seek out and attend networking opportunities in the community with the goal of bringing new supporters into the Spark Central community.
• Create and execute the annual Development Plan and establish annual revenue goals with the Executive Director.
• Ensure data accuracy in our CRM database management, including reporting, gift and donor entry process, tax receipts, and thanking protocol, all in a timely manner.

Qualifications:
• Proven experience with fundraising and development efforts, including donor relationship-building and direct asks for gifts.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills. Grant-writing experience a strong plus.
• Experience with CRM database management and maintenance.
• Comfort with modern office technology and tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, task management tools (e.g., Asana), website platforms (e.g., Squarespace), and marketing software (e.g., Mailchimp).
• Strong relational skills and the ability to interact effectively with differing personalities, abilities, and with BIPOC individuals.
• Highly-organized and able to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Compensation: $50,000 – $55,000 starting salary DOE. Healthcare, dental, vacation, sick leave.
