The PDX Red Wall, is looking for visual artists to create site specific banners. Located at 2106 NE Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, in Portland, Oregon. This south facing wall is seen by thousands of vehicles a day. Exhibitions change every 8 weeks. Open to artists of Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California.
The Red Wall is a 10’ x 16’ blue (formerly red) brick wall, a gateway to NE Portland. Artists are invited to submit proposals for banners with themes of equity, community, and diversity.
Eight images will be selected, for May 2024, through March 2025.
Deadline for Submissions: February 28, 2024.
Notification of Winners by April 10, 2024.
Artists to Provide Digital Files to Oregon Blueprint for banner production 6 weeks before their install date.
AWARDS Each artist will receive a $100 stipend and acknowledgement with contact information at the site of the installation.
ELIGIBILITY Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California artists. The artwork must be original to the artist.
JURORS Director’s choice. Please note, there is no personal feedback given by jurors.
NOTIFICATION Notification will be done by email. If for any reason you do not receive your notification by the notification date, please check the filters in your email account.
ENTRY To submit a proposal, make your payments via paypal to: PDXredwall@comcast.net, then submit your images and resume, artist statement or a sentence or two about your work, and up to five JPEG images to PDXredwall@comcast.net. Each image should represent a different banner idea.
Art must be original and the submitting artists must have all rights to the images.
ENTRY FEE $20 for up to five images.
