SUMMARY OF THE POSITION:

Working as part of a small but fast-paced team, the Finance and Administrative Coordinator will own the Accounts Payable process as well as assist various team members with business filings, check deposits, systems support, and other administrative tasks. This is a hybrid remote position requiring 2 days per week onsite in our office in the International District (parking spot in secure lot provided), as well as travel to our P.O. Box in Capitol Hill. The position reports directly to Shunpike’s Finance and Accounting Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Finance

Take ownership of the Accounts Payable process to increase internal controls- instill guidelines on necessary supporting documentation for payments
Accounts Payable data entry into accounting software
W-9 verifications
Weekly check printing, mailing
Process cash and check bank deposits
Secretary of State and other business filings
Annual audit support
Special projects as needed/identified
Administrative

Collect mail from PO box and office
Scanning, date stamping, and distributing received mail
Organizing and filing check disbursement and check deposit reports
Manage finance-related office equipment & services (check stock, mailing machine etc)
Finance report processing and distribution (splitting documents, renaming files & placing in client folders)
Other duties as assigned
A successful applicant will have a working knowledge of general accounting principles and the ability to learn new programs quickly and independently. The applicant should have proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs and good communication skills. This position provides training in MIP Abila Fund Accounting software, and in Salesforce, along with other opportunities for professional development, and advancement within the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field, or equivalent work experience.
Experience and basic knowledge of GAAP; nonprofit accounting experience a plus.
Strong proficiency with technology, including MS Excel and financial management software. Experience with Abila MIP Fund Accounting software is preferred.
Strong organizational, analytical and detail skills, with attention to accuracy and deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work in an open and collaborative work environment, both in person and online.
Persistent follow through and resolution of problems.
Adaptable and composed when faced with changing needs and priorities.

POSITION SCHEDULE: This full-time position is scheduled for:

Minimum 2 days per week in office (Thursdays required), with flexibility regarding weekly schedule, and the possibility to work other days remotely.
REMUNERATION: $25 – $26.50/hr, DOE; Monthly WFH/Public Transit Stipend; 18 days vacation plus 9 paid holidays annually. Health/Dental/Vision Benefits.
