Hello Artists,
We invite you to contribute to our exhibit “From Root to Canopy” at the Confluence Gallery in Twisp, WA. The show will open on October 14th and will run thru November 18th , 2023.
This exhibit is a celebration of all the parts of the mystical, essential, habitat-supporting, communicative, oxygen-giving Tree and what makes it so important to our very survival as a planet. What is it about the tree that invites wonder to the point of reverence for some? How do the various parts and even life cycle of the tree, from its root system to its upper leaves and everything in between, contribute to all living creatures on Earth? We would love for you to explore these various aspects in any medium you choose – especially using parts of the tree itself such as wood or twigs (hoping that no trees will be harmed exclusively in the making of your art!). We are looking for both wall works and 3-dimensional works. We look forward to discovering how you celebrate the mighty tree.
Number of pieces to submit: 1-4.
Here are the rules- Each piece must be:
– Your own original work.
-Available for sale.
– Created in the last 3 years.
-Never previously shown at The Confluence.
-Any Size
-Any Medium (and wood is good!)
– Ready for hanging with appropriate hardware/wire secured to work (works without hanging hardware or not professionally presented will not be hung. No dented or scratched frames unless that is part of the work)
Please note the curator(s) have the right to refuse work even after work is delivered to the gallery if it is not wired for hanging, or does not contribute to the direction, cohesiveness, or available space of the show. We are looking for high quality professional execution and thoughtful content that contribute to the vision of the show as stated above.
