The Cincinnati based non-profit arts organization and gallery, Manifest, invites visual artists and designers to submit works that explore art about the idea of time, its passage, how we measure it, and the mystery of the 4th dimension. Open to all traditional and non-traditional genre and media.

Time is a vast landscape experienced in the sliver of a moment. Any thinking beyond the moment involves casting our mind into the future or the past, remembering what has happened or envisioning the shape of things to come.
How do we visualize this? How do we map it? Does cutting time into eras, years, seconds let us understand time’s expanse, it’s topography?
How big is time?
Applying the definition of geography to a geography of time might read, “The study of the features of time and its effects on human activity, and human activity’s effect on time.”
Can humans, then, affect time? Can we pollute it? What does the use of time as a natural resource produce? Does it exist outside of our use? Outside of our perception?
Is there a kind of time we can’t touch? That can’t touch us?

$40 for up to FOUR entries submitted. $5 per each additional entry.
ANNUAL CASH AWARD: The annual Manifest Grand Jury Prize will result in the awarding of one significant cash prize ($5000) to a single work selected as the ‘best of the entire season’.
