CALL FOR ART – GRAPHITE ON GRAPHITE
The Gallery at Graphite Arts Center (Edmonds, WA) is seeking artwork for the upcoming exhibition ‘Graphite on Graphite’.

About the exhibit
Playing on our building name The Gallery at Graphite presents Graphite on Graphite, an exhibit of graphite art. A graphite pencil, often the first art material explored when learning to draw, may be simple to use but requires time and skill to master. Graphite in pencil form, sometimes a powder, is a grey colored drawing material which requires only the slightest amount of pressure to leave a mark. Charcoal, graphite’s darker friend, is blacker in color and like graphite is made from carbon and often used for drawing and sketching. The vision of this exhibit is to explore a range of artistic expressions through the mediums of graphite and charcoal. We are looking for high quality executed and finished works that go beyond Drawing 101 or Introduction to Life Drawing.

This is a juried exhibit with rules for submission and standards/guidelines for acceptance. Not all submissions will necessarily be accepted. Submissions will be juried based on quality and adherence to instructions of the call.
