Green Stormwater Infrastructure Mural / Calls & Submissions

Deadline
October 31, 2021

Organization Name: Capitol Hill EcoDistrict

Organization Location: Seattle, WA

Type: Calls & Submissions

Fee: Free

Discipline:

The Capitol Hill EcoDistrict seeks artists to design rain paint murals for four locations in Capitol Hill, Seattle. Artists will submit a digital design and, upon selection, will be asked to convert their work into
vector art. Intended to visually represent the flow of water as it hits pavement, each street mural will speak to the history of auto row in the Capitol Hill neighborhood, the impacts of climate change, and the
community resilience needed to address them. Artists should hold a consciousness that this land is the traditional homeland of the Coast Salish people, and the built environment we see today reflects the
labor of many peoples of color. Artists will create a digital rendering of a mural repeatable by stencil based on their visual interpretation of the neighborhood’s water story. The four successful designs will
be chosen by the community – all artwork meeting the minimum criteria described below will be included in a round of public voting.
