Inscape Arts is a diverse community of artists located in the Chinatown-International District neighborhood of Seattle. Now in its fifth year, the artist-in-residency program provides much-needed studio and project space for artists to create their own work within the setting of the historic, former immigration building.

For the 2024 residency cycle, six residencies will be awarded to artists or artist groups who submit thoughtful, compelling, and relevant applications that consist of high-quality work. All mediums are welcome. Prior awardees have included artists engaged in visual art, dance, writing and social practice. The residency is open to all artists by application. We are currently accepting applications for the 2024 residency period, running from January 2024-December 2024. In honor of the history of the building, artists who are immigrants and/or from underrepresented populations are strongly encouraged to apply.

Artists-in-residence will be given opportunities for exposure to their work, including exhibiting at Inscape Arts Open Studios events, artist talks and social media support.
