A Call To Artists
Inspired!

Hello Artists,

We invite you to contribute to our exhibit “Inspired!” at the Confluence Gallery in Twisp, WA. The show will open on March 4 and will run through April 15, 2023. There will be a poetry reading at the gallery March 5.

What inspires creativity? For some it starts with a poem, verse or some other inspirational words, followed by a beautiful photo or place perhaps. Poets may be inspired by a work of art, while a visual artist may be inspired by the written word.
Poets will be invited to provide work that may be used by visual artists to create work. Visual artists will be asked to create work that poets will
interpret during the exhibit.
It is hoped this will create a call and response to visual and written sources of inspiration: the translation of words to the visual realm and translation of the visual back to words. Artists will create work inspired by local poets – the visual and written work may be shown together. Poetry created that responds to work during the exhibit will be recited at reading event(s) during the show.

Number of pieces to submit – up to 3 pieces as follows:
• Required – One piece of art that is inspired by a poem submitted by one of the Confluence Poets.
• Optional – One piece of art that is inspired by your own words or words of your favorite writer or collaborate with a writer for written and visual work.
• Optional – One piece of art for poets to respond too.

Here are the rules- Each piece must be:
• Your own original work.
• Available for sale.
• Created in the last 3 years.
• Never previously shown at The Confluence.
• Any Size
• Any Medium
• Ready for hanging with appropriate hardware/wire secured to work (works without hanging hardware will not be hung)
Please note the curator(s) have the right to refuse work, even after work is delivered to the gallery, if it does not contribute to the direction, cohesiveness, or available space of the show. We are looking for high quality execution and thoughtful content that contribute to the vision of the show as stated above.
