Interstice: An Itinerant Exhibition
July–August 2021
Los Angeles

The Residency Project is accepting submissions of time-based work (ie. video, sound, live in-person performance, live digital performance), net art, social practice works, and other non-object based works for our current curatorial project, Interstice.

Interstice is an alternative, itinerant, and evolving exhibition that will be on view July 1–August 31 in Los Angeles, where it will rove from site to site; activating in-between spaces and filling cracks in the construct.

Interstice began as a short-run exhibition featuring artist books, small sculptures, and sensorial installations that touch upon the theme of interstices*—interstitial spaces, moments, identities, philosophies, and states of being or perceiving. The exhibition made its debut in Minnesota, popping up at Focus Arts in Minneapolis and Franconia Sculpture Park in Shafer from May 15–31, 2021. The scope of Interstice has since expanded to include many more artists, presenting work in other media including but not limited to video, sound, performance, web-work, and social practice.
