2023 Juried Dream Art Exhibition

Each year at its annual conference, the International Association for the Study of Dreams (IASD) mounts a Juried Art Exhibition. This year’s conference has dual themes: Dreaming & the Arts and Dreaming & Ethnicity. You don’t need to be an IASD member or attend the conference to submit artwork, nor is the artwork required to fit the conference themese. If your submission is accepted and you do decide to attend, you’ll be able to register for the conference at a discounted rate. Several cash awards will be given during the exhibit.

We are accepting original artwork about or inspired by dreams or shamanic visions. The jurors will be open-minded about the relationship of the artwork to dream content when selecting the art pieces, as long as the work was inspired in some fashion by visionary or emotional experiences that occurred during sleep or shamanic ritual. Note: An entrant can create a piece inspired by someone else’s dream.

IASD is the world’s preeminent organization for the study of dreams. Our members come from a wide variety of backgrounds: all forms of the arts, academia, psychotherapy and bodywork, scientific research, and people in unrelated fields who just happen to be interested in dreams. On asdreams.org, you will find a Dream Art Exhibition Archive, a Dreams & Ethnicity Portal, regional contacts, IASD’s Ethics Statement, and other information about dreams ranging from nightmares, to lucid and paranormal dreaming, to dream depictions in film and media. But like dreams themselves, our activities encompass both the serious and the celebratory. A highlight is the dazzling “come as your favorite dream character” Dream Ball on the final night of the conference. ✨
