We are excited to announce a call to artists to participate in Baltimore Community Foundation’s LGBTQ Fund MASKerade Baltimore – a Mask Design Competition & Virtual Event to raise awareness of and fundraise for issues facing the LGBTQ community. Since launching in 2018, the LGBTQ Fund at BCF has awarded nearly $100,000 to organizations fighting discrimination, providing health services, producing art and culture events and supporting young people with anti-bullying and suicide prevention programs.
Maryland Art Place (MAP) is pleased to partner with BCF this year to help support their efforts in raising awareness. MAP will be running and managing the online auction made available to artists throughout the state and beyond to participate for free. All artists and bidders must register with Givesmart to view the auction which will not be made LIVE until November 7.
Artists and non-artists must use the provided COVID mask to participate. Template for reference included HERE.
Masks must be finished per finishing instructions to be included in the exhibition (chin dart must be closed and twill threaded).
There is no fee to enter.
All participants must register a loan agreement (google form) with Maryland Art Place HERE
You cannot register in full without a fully executed image of your mask.
Proceeds will be split 40% to the artists and 60% to the LBGTQ Fund. Your portion of proceeds contributed to the Fund are considered a donation. You may donate more.
