KNKX is seeking two mural artists to create original works for its new office and station in the Pike Place Market neighborhood in Seattle, Washington. This opportunity includes two locations for artwork: an exterior wall adjacent to the entryway (8’x10’) and an interior wall flanking the station lounge area (approximately 22’x 8’).
This opportunity is open to established and early career artists with the skill and interest to create large-scale paintings in Seattle, Washington, during June-July 2023. KNKX’s roots in the Pacific Northwest run deep, with a history of bringing jazz, blues, news, and regional storytelling to our region for over 50 years. The new location, in the heart of downtown reflects our commitment to continuing this legacy, and the on-site artwork should also reflect one or more elements of this commitment. Artists should also be able to convey a strong connection to Seattle and/or the Puget Sound region during the application process.
