The Open Arts & Music Festival is free, all-ages, and open to the public and takes up the entire city block in front of the historic Alex Theatre in Downtown Glendale, with an anticipated attendance of 10,000 people. In this lively setting the community enjoys exploring and buying unique arts and crafts in the Arts Market, which is open from 3pm to 10pm. In addition to the arts market, there is live music on the main stage, a craft beer garden, a temporary public art installation, and all-day activities for kids. We close the city block in front of the Alex Theatre, and welcome 10,000 people to enjoy live music and art for the day!

Glendale Arts is seeking inspiring artists to participate in the Open Arts & Music Festival Arts Market from 3pm-10pm on Saturday, September 14, 2019. In addition to showcasing various arts disciplines, Arts Market vendors are asked to offer a minimum of one (1) activity which serves to bring the community closer to the art/artist. Activities can include, but are not limited to:
• An all-ages workshop
• Participatory art project
• A demonstration

Preference will be given to projects and practices which:
• Elevate a participant’s experience of the event
• Provide engaging/interesting workshops/demonstrations which cater to all ages (not just to kids)
• Demonstrate a creative approach to on-site engagements
• Experiment with new ways of making
• Open up conversations surrounding the arts

To reserve a booth for the event, you must pay the Rental Fee deposit upfront. We do not jury unpaid applications. If you are not accepted to the Arts Market, we will refund your Rental Fee deposit in full.
The deadline for submissions is midnight on August 14, 2019.

Early Bird Booth Rental Fees are in effect until July 8 and are as follows:

10’x10′ Booth: $100 ($125 after July 8)
Includes electricity, basic lighting, canopy tent, 1 table, 2 chairs.

10’x20′ Booth: $160 ($200 after July 8)
Includes electricity, basic lighting, canopy tent, 2 tables, 2 chairs.

Submissions will be reviewed regularly.
Vendors WILL ONLY BE NOTIFIED IF THEIR SUBMISSION IS SELECTED. If vendors are not selected, a full refund will occur in 10-15 days. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis, and inclusion in the Arts Market will be confirmed at the latest by August 16, 2019.

Vendors are required to stay for the duration of the event (3pm-10pm).

Through the Open Grant Program, Glendale Arts offers a limited number of grants to assist with booth rental fees. Please indicate at the end of the vendor application if you would like to receive more information on this program.
