Photo-Solo Exhibit / Calls & Submissions
The Cincinnati based non-profit arts organization and gallery, Manifest, invites visual artists to submit proposals for solo exhibitions of various types of photo-based visual art. Submissions will be reviewed starting in late April in consideration for the September 25-October 23, 2020 exhibition period, coinciding with the FotoFocus Biennial.
On average, one-third of Manifest’s exhibits are dedicated to solo exhibits. Solo exhibitors have included local, regional, and national artists from as far away as New York City, San Francisco, Canada, and Hong Kong. Well over 250 artists exhibit (through group and solo shows combined) and over 4,000 patrons visit the gallery each year.
Anyone can submit a proposal. Artists should bear in mind the need for a consistent and very strong body of work when submitting. Open to all traditional and non-traditional genre and media.
Types of proposals include solo exhibits, two person exhibits (we strongly recommend artists submit individual solo proposals and request consideration of the two-person show), and group shows (solo proposals preferred, but we have considered and accepted group proposals in the past).
NOTE: A separate general exhibition season proposal application is available and open to all media, including photography, for exhibits throughout the 2020/21 season.
