The Cincinnati based non-profit arts organization and gallery, Manifest, invites visual artists and designers to submit works of any kind, for an exhibition of that which separates and encloses the movement of inside to out—doorways, windows, frames, lenses, all the means by which we leave one space or state and enter another. Open to any and all traditional and non-traditional visual arts 2d or 3d media.

A doorway is the necessary afterthought of a making a place, but one that takes on a great deal of importance once you realize that you need it—simply passing though a portal changes your experience of the other side. You are awed by a foreboding entryway, you forget your reason for entering a room after walking through a doorway. You intimately experience a movie through the phone in your hand.

Passing through, or looking through, the framework of a portal sets the tone for the experience within.

Did you ever read C.S Lewis’s The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe? How much do you remember of the country of Narnia? How vividly can you imagine the Wardrobe?

$40 for up to FOUR entries submitted. $5 per each additional entry.
