Program Manager – We. App / Employment
December 15, 2020
Organization Name: We.APP
Organization Location: Seattle, WA
The We.APP (We Act. Present Perform.) Speak With Purpose (SWP) is the only public speaking class offered as an elective or Language Arts course during the school day. SWP is designed to teach young scholars to discover their unique voice, and create original work that expresses their view on education, home, and life.
Our main objective for SWP is to be an integral part of what schools provide to bridge the engagement and opportunity gap. Our strategy incorporates the integration of public speaking, writing and the performing arts to reengage students in their reading, writing, and listening process. By teaching students to expand vocabulary, critical thinking skills, and ability to collaborate, students increase their ability to self-direct, adapt speech to a variety of contexts and tasks, and speak with purpose as it relates to school and home. All these things contribute to a child’s ability to focus and stay engaged in their learning process as it relates to the classroom, home, and self-exploration.
The We.APP Program Manager (PM) assumes primary responsibility for the successful strategic planning, management and implementation of the Speak With Purpose (SWP) program and its activities. The PM is also responsible for managing all grant partnerships, which includes reporting and attending meetings. The position reports directly to the Executive Director and/or Operations Manager (OM).
This is a part-time position working with We.APP Teaching Guides and all stakeholders, including schools, communities, parents, and volunteers.
Applicants must submit a cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. The deadline to apply is Tuesday, December 15, 2020.
We.APP is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We.APP is committed to building a diverse team and strongly encourages applications from candidates of color.
