RFP Animal Track stamps for municipal sidewalk project / Calls & Submissions
Deadline
April 30, 2026
Organization Name: Twisp Creative District
Organization Location: Twisp, WA
Type: Calls & Submissions
Fee: Free
The Twisp Creative District seeks an artist to design and fabricate custom “animal track” stamps to be used in new sidewalks and road crossings along Glover Street. The selected artist will design a series of animal track stamps as well as meandering pattern layouts that guide how the tracks will appear across sidewalks and crossings.
The stamps will be used at 6 total locations throughout the downtown Twisp sidewalk and road crossing installations. The track designs should meander across each sidewalk section and “reappear” at other locations, creating the feeling of a connected wildlife trail winding through downtown.
Concrete contractors will use these stamps during sidewalk installation. The selected artist is not responsible for the installation of stamped designs but must coordinate with the Town’s concrete contractor on stamp dimensions, relief depth, and delivery schedule.
Fabrication Requirements: Because the stamps will be reused across multiple pours at 6 locations, durability is essential. Stamps must be:
• Fabricated from materials rated for repeated use in fresh concrete (e.g., polyurethane, urethane rubber, or contractor-grade stamping mat material)
• Designed to withstand a minimum of 6 concrete pours without significant degradation
• Sized and shaped in consultation with the Town’s concrete contractor to ensure compatibility with the pour process
• Delivered as a complete set covering all animal track types included in the design
• Due to funding, this RFP has a quick turnaround with first concrete pour happening in June; please only apply if you are able to turn the stamps out in this tight timeframe.
In addition to the stamps themselves, the artist must deliver:
• A layout guide or pattern template for each of the 6 installation locations, showing how tracks meander and are oriented across the sidewalk
• Brief written instructions for contractor use of the stamps and pattern templates
Budget: Total project budget: $5,000. Budget will cover artist design fees, stamp fabrication, pattern templates, and delivery of all materials to the Town of Twisp.
Submission Requirements:
• Artist statement (1 page maximum)
• Portfolio of relevant work, including any sculptural, fabrication, or stamp/pattern design experience (3–7 images with captions)
• Brief description of proposed animal track design concept and material approach
• Proposed budget breakdown
• References (2–3 professional contacts)
Site Information: A project map showing the sidewalk and crossing locations will be included.
Timeline (Approximate):
• RFP Release: April 1, 2026
• Proposal Deadline: April 30, 2026
• Artist Selection: May 2026
• Delivery of stamps and stamp design templates: June 2026
Selection Process: Proposals will be reviewed by a Twisp Creative District selection committee. Finalists may be contacted for an interview or clarification before a final decision is made.
Questions: Please direct all questions to Sarah Lightner, director@methowarts.org.
