The City of Issaquah invites professional artists/artist teams to submit their qualifications for consideration to create impactful, artful design elements for downtown plazas.

The public art design budget is $25,000. The selected artist/artist team will work with City of Issaquah park planning and arts staff as well as project consultant Mithun throughout the artwork design process.

The artwork will be a component of newly designed and renovated plazas, located in the heart of Olde Town Issaquah. This project went through an extensive public engagement process in 2022-23 which helped identify overall project design schemes and priorities. Renovation of these park spaces promotes civic gathering, connection to commerce, and begins to unify disjointed public spaces.

Potential art integration possibilities include paving, lighting and/or stand-alone sculptural elements. Designs may include a combination of components. Fabrication and installation will be accomplished through a secondary contract with the selected artist/artist team or outsourced as needed, dependent on design.
