The Seattle Metals Guild is seeking dedicated community leaders to join our Board of Directors! Are you passionate about the advancement of the arts, the field of metalsmithing, lifelong learning, and community-based enrichment? Would you like to roll up your sleeves and work with a group of committed community leaders to drive more equitable arts opportunities in our city?
The Board of Directors supports the work of the Seattle Metals Guild and provides mission-based strategic governance. Board support is essential to achieving the Guild’s mission and maintaining the organization’s financial and administrative health. Volunteer Board positions have a term of two years, with an option to renew.
We are in search of volunteers to help with a broad range of tasks on behalf of our membership. We are currently seeking Chairpersons for our Membership, Communications, Lecture Series, and Grants Committees, with additional opportunities to assist with Exhibitions and other Events. Those with experience or interest in graphic design, writing, event and exhibition planning, and grants administration are especially needed.

The Seattle Metals Guild is dedicated to promoting educational and networking opportunities for metals artists at all career levels and skillsets through lectures, workshops, social gatherings, and other enrichment opportunities, in order to strengthen our creative community.
Our Vision
The Seattle Metals Guild is about sharing information, building skills and advancing the field of metalsmithing while broadening the horizons of its members. Founded in 1989, we are a non-profit community of jewelers, metalsmiths, artists, makers-practitioners and metals fans of all tempers, gauges, and alloys-who are excited about the traditions and contemporary possibilities of this wonderful art form.
Along with providing affordable educational opportunities to our members and to the general public, our activities include exhibitions, meet-ups, an annual symposium, and a series of workshops and lectures on a wide variety of subjects. The SMG relies on the skills, enthusiasm, and energy of our members to power the organization and we welcome any and all to come join us!
