Seeking Filmmakers for 20th Anniversary / Employment

Deadline
November 11, 2020

Organization Name: The Vera Project

Organization Location: Seattle, WA

Type: Employment

Fee: Free

Discipline:

The Vera Project, Seattle’s favorite all-ages music venue and nonprofit arts space, will be celebrating our 20th anniversary all 2021 long with a series of livestreams and in-person special events. In order to make next year a huge success and fundraise for some big new programs, we’re looking for a creative, skilled, and fast-acting filmmaker that can help us share our story.

Selected filmmaker(s) will have their videos screened to The Vera Project’s core community of creative leaders and broadcast to tens-of-thousands nationwide. Compensation will be determined once the final scope of work is agreed upon, but will include generous stipends per video produced and tickets to all of Vera’s 20th anniversary celebration events.

If you are an experienced filmmaker from and/or currently located in the Seattle area, have some form of relationship or history with The Vera Project, and want to work with our community to create something meaningful, we’d love to hear from you. While the scope of work will be finalized throughout the next several weeks in collaboration with our selected filmmaker(s), the following details are confirmed:

1. 20th Anniversary Kickoff Event – a campaign launch video featuring interviews, musical performances, programming highlights, and more to be broadcast as a pre-recorded, but live-streamed special event on January 27, 2021 (The Vera Project’s 20th anniversary).

11/16/20 – Video partner(s) selected
12/1/20 – Film Production Begins
1/11/21 – First Draft Due
1/20/21 – Final Draft Due
1/27/21 – Kickoff Event

2. 20th Anniversary Gala Video – a 5-10 minute film that shows The Vera Project’s mission in action, complete with programming highlights, stories from our community, public figure testimonials, and more to be screened for a large group of our core supporters and donors in early Fall 2021. This video will be produced throughout the first half of next year, incorporating archived footage, content from our online concerts, interviews with key community members, and recordings of programs happening next summer.

***Due to the project’s emphasis on historic b-roll, archive footage, and pre-recorded content, a significant portion of work on this campaign will be in post-production.

The Vera Project (VERA) is an all-ages nonprofit space dedicated to fostering personal and community transformation through collaborative, youth-driven engagement in music and art. A music venue, screen print shop, recording studio, art gallery, educational institution, and safe space for radical self- expression, VERA is a home to Seattle’s creative community.

Please fill out the RFP form to be considered for this project. The deadline for submission is Wednesday, November 11th.
