The OST Programs Manager will oversee the Best Start for Kids grant that supports after-school programming at Hazel Valley and Mount View Elementary in the Highline School District. They will also support the BSK grants funding the four New Futures sites that involve programming at the homes of students. The OST Programs Manager holds responsibility for the successful implementation and grant reporting of the Best Starts for Kids Programs including development of new ideas for classes, faculty hiring and cultivation, partner orientations and check-ins, faculty supervision, classroom assistant supervision, faculty communication/support, social/cultural aspects of youth across program sites, oversight of faculty payroll process in collaboration with Program Operations Manager, and accurate quarterly data collection and reporting in collaboration with our partner sites. This is a heavily administrative role, for the Manager must be able to effectively organize, track and communicate all aspects of grant to BSK staff and community stakeholders, in addition to lead reporting efforts to King County.

Key responsibilities:

-Provide strategic leadership

Teaching Artists:

-Recruit and support teaching artist roster
-Provide recommendations on teaching artist placement
-Negotiate and manage teaching artist contracts and assistant agreements
-Maintain database contact and bio information for all teaching artists
-Identify and place classroom assistants
-Align to SELPQA methods of observation and feedback to TAs
-Sign off on paperwork requirements for teaching artist timesheet and other billings
-Perform regular teaching artist observations and evaluations with support of Director of Arts Education
-Collaborate on quarterly teaching artist check-in meetings, professional development workshops and annual retreat

Site Management:
-Manage after school programs at 6 sites in the Highline School District
-Support orientation and positive collaborations between TA’s, classroom assistants and partner sites
-Troubleshoot and problem-solve classroom and curricular issues Best Starts for Kids (BSK) Grant Data Collection and Reporting
-Collaborate with BSK Coach in external reporting
-Work with Deputy Director, Executive Director on quarterly reports to BSK
-Coordinate development and submittal of quarter plans and course ideas
-Attend regular mandatory meetings with BSK Coaches and Staff.
-Track receipt of quarter plans, surveys, media permissions and attendance forms

General:
-Support Showcase, Festa, and other events as needed
-Represent Arts Corps at various conferences, seminars, forums
-Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
-Bachelors degree in liberal arts or fine arts (four years of arts education or related experience may substitute for degree)
-Three years of arts education or related experience
-Strong administrative skills
-Well-organized with good interpersonal skills
-Familiar with YPQA, SELPQA, and other youth assessment tools
-Familiarity with observing teaching artists and offering feedback
-Excellent time management skills
-Passion for the arts
-Passion for serving youth in need
-Responsible, process oriented and detailed
-Comfortable in multi-cultural social settings and diplomatic environments
-A self-starter, yet able to work under supervision
-Effective written and oral communication skills
-Ability to make sound decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions
-Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve
-Proficiency in word processing, database, and spreadsheet skills (Excel)
