The Sleepover Art Project / Calls & Submissions
CALL FOR ENTRIES (Artists and Non-artists): The Sleepover
The Sleepover is a community art project that explores the significance of female gathering traditions of all kinds.
Women of all ages and backgrounds are invited to share art, recollections, reflections, and artifacts from their personal experiences with sleepovers, religious traditions, girl scouts, sleepaway camps, health class, youth groups, unique family customs–the list goes on!
Submissions may be historical (e.g., a note telling us about the original song you and your sister sang on every road trip) or interpretive (e.g., a painting or poem inspired by the original song you and your sister sang on every road trip) in nature. Visual art, memories, short stories, old notes & letters, music, sound art, essays, videos, poems, and physical objects from anywhere in the world will all be gratefully accepted.
Submissions will be curated and shared in an online digital exhibition and serve as inspiration for an original devised theatre piece.
Entries accepted by email, snail mail, or via our toll-free hotline through July 15, 2021.
